Members of the Management Committee of the Internet Service Providers’ Association of SA (ISPA) will be embarking on a road show in the Eastern Cape on 18 and 19 May to meet with members in the region and update them about its activities.

ISPA’s first Eastern Cape road show in 12 years begins in East London, and then visits Queenstown, Grahamstown, Jeffrey’s Bay and Port Elizabeth; in that order.

ISPA members in the region include SAINET Internet, Active Web Experience, Imagine Internet Services, Oryx Trust, Aerosat, Axxess Africa and Internet Services & Technology (iSAT).

Said Ant Brooks, General Manager at ISPA: “ISPA’s road shows have traditionally taken place in Gauteng, the Western Cape and Kwa-Zulu Natal, but we believe that it’s equally important to stay in touch with members in other parts of the country. In addition, Internet uptake in the Easter Cape region has been impressive over the past several years.”

“This will be an opportunity for us to brief our members about a range of regulatory, legislative and licensing issues that might affect their

businesses, as well as to tell them more about our activities. We will also be able to talk to them about any industry matters that are important to them on a one-to-one basis.”

“Roadshows are an effective way to build closer relationships with our members and help them stay abreast of complicated legislative changes, in particular,” Mr Brooks added. “We want to engage with our members and help them understand where the industry is headed and how they can help shape it.”

The Internet Service Providers’ Association is a South African Internet industry body incorporated not for gain. ISPA has historically served as an active industry body, facilitating exchange between the different independent Internet service providers, the Department of Communications, ICASA, operators and other service providers in South Africa.
