Say No To Online Harassment

You have the same rights online as you do offline. If someone is engaging in online conduct with the intention of causing you harm, the Protection from Harassment Act can help you.

Even if you do not know the identity of your harasser, you can apply for a protection order by taking the following simple steps:

  • Complete an Application for Protection order.
  • Lodge the completed form with your local Magistrate’s Court. (look for the Clerk of the Court)
  • The court can ask your ISP for assistance, and may issue an interim order to protect you.
  • If necessary the court will make this a final order and issue a warrant of arrest which can be used if the harassment continues.
