Duncan Martin

Duncan Martin is a consultant on research and education networking and is a non-executive director of a number of companies. He lives and works in Cape Town.

Duncan consults to the UbuntuNet Alliance for Research and Education Networking, which is the regional research and education network for Eastern and Southern Africa, headquartered in Lilongwe, Malawi. Recently he was a member of the consulting teams that advised the Governments of Burundi and the DRC on the formation of national research and education network in those countries.  He was a director of ZADNA for six years until March 2015, and is currently a non-executive director of e-Schools Network, the ZA Central Registry and Korwe Software (Pty) Ltd.

In 2001 Duncan was appointed as the first CEO of TENET, the South Africa National Research and Education Network, a position from which he retired at the end of January 2013. While with TENET he was one of the founders of the UbuntuNet Alliance, which celebrated its 10th anniversary late last year.
